Heater 2 PTC 180W 230V

Self-regulating heaters are based on the PTC thermistor. A characteristic feature of PTC heaters is variable (self-regulating) resistance depending on the heat uptake (operating temperature). The better the heat is taken from the surface of the heater, the higher power the element will achieve. In case of low heat uptake from the surface, the heating element will work with minimal power.
PTC heaters are most often used in evaporating tanks/dishes for condensate in refrigeration equipment. The heater reaches its maximum power in water with a temperature close to 0°C. Then, the power drops to about 80-90% of the maximum power when immersed in water with a temperature close to 90-100°C - it reaches its nominal power. After the condensate has evaporated, when the heater is already working without contact with water (in the air), the element draws about 10% of the maximum power. Since the resistance of the heater changes smoothly, the above percentage data are estimated.
The offered heater does not require wall mounting in the tank/dish and is intended for free placement at the bottom. Hexagonal heads prevent the heater from moving and insulate the bottom of the tank from the heater's jacket (heating part). Self-regulating heating elements with nylon heads are designed for use in both metal and plastic tanks. Upon special request, hexagonal heads can be made of metal.
