The Rules of Properly Bending a Heater
Please read the following instructions carefully to ensure the proper and safe use of heating elements:
-
Every heater has a “dead spot” (non-heating zone) at both ends.
- The heating element cannot be bent on the edges of these spots, as it can damage the insulation of the heater.
- Bending should occur in the heating or non-heating zones, but never at their edges.
- The minimum distance from the “dead spot” zone for bending is 15mm.
-
The minimum inner bending radius (Rw) is 15mm.
- Smaller radii are possible (sometimes even 0, called “abreast”), but this increases the risk of damage.
-
A heater that has already been bent becomes harder in the bent zone.
- Especially with small radii, attempting to re-bend it can cause damage.
-
Heaters with softened coatings are designed to be bent, but only when cold.
-
After bending, you should contact an electrician to check the resistance of the heater.
Important:
- Heaters bent by customers lose their warranty.
- However, our employees can bend the heater for you (for a fee), and the 12-month warranty will remain valid.
